🌱 From Waste to Wealth: AUKTIE’s Green Legacy

The Chadwell Heath Breakthrough: Where It All Began

Long before AUKTIE became a force for sustainable infrastructure and ESG-driven transformation, its founder, Patrick Ogunnowo, was already shaping bold community-first climate solutions.

In 2005, as a Board Member and Sustainability Advisor with the Chadwell Heath Neighbourhood Management Board in Barking and Dagenham, Patrick co-led one of the UK’s most forward-thinking local carbon reduction initiatives—funded through a £5 million Big Lottery Fund grant.

The Rocket Revolution
The project’s centrepiece was the deployment of Rocket composters—innovative machines designed to rapidly decompose household food waste into nutrient-rich compost. These units were strategically placed to serve the community, turning what would have been waste into a green resource.

But Patrick pushed it further.

🔬 Innovation: He introduced potassium enrichment to the compost, turning it into a fertiliser-grade output—giving it both agricultural and commercial value.

🏡 Impact: The compost was distributed across local urban allotments, empowering residents to grow their own crops, improve food security, and reduce reliance on industrial supply chains.

â™» Results: A model of circular economy in action, this project contributed to tangible COâ‚‚ emission reductions by diverting organic waste from landfills and cutting food miles.

🧭 What It Means for AUKTIE Today

This legacy of community-rooted innovation defines AUKTIE’s mission today: to decarbonise infrastructure, empower local ecosystems, and transform policy into practice through sustainable design, circular thinking, and bold leadership.

“From local compost to global impact — this is how we scale sustainable wealth in emerging markets.”
— Patrick Ogunnowo, Founder of AUKTIE & Author of The Green Billionaire
